Terms of Service
Last updated: March 20, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By installing or using TextFlow ("the Extension"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please uninstall the Extension.
2. Description of Service
The Extension is a Chrome browser extension that expands short triggers into longer text, supports dynamic variables, and provides per-site rule scoping. All data processing — including rule matching, variable resolution, and text replacement — is performed locally in your browser. The service is provided on an "as is" basis.
3. Free Service
The Extension is provided free of charge. Core functionality will remain free forever. We reserve the right to introduce optional premium features in the future. Any changes will be communicated in advance through the Extension or our website.
4. User Responsibilities
- You must comply with all applicable laws while using the Extension.
- You shall not attempt to reverse-engineer, modify, or redistribute the Extension without permission.
- You are responsible for the content of the rules you create and the text you expand.
- You shall not use the Extension to impersonate others or to generate content that violates any third party's rights.
5. Intellectual Property
The Extension and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by TextFlow and are protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws. Rules and snippets you author are your own — you retain all rights to the content you create.
6. No Warranty on Expansion Behavior
While TextFlow strives for reliable expansion across common web inputs, we do not guarantee that triggers will fire in every editor or under every browser configuration. Some richly customized web editors may intercept keystrokes or manage their own text state, which can affect expansion behavior. TextFlow is not liable for any missed or delayed expansions.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Extension is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that:
- The service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
- Expansion will work on all websites or browser configurations.
- Dynamic variables will resolve identically across all devices.
- The Extension will be compatible with all Chrome versions.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, TextFlow and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Extension, including but not limited to damages resulting from missed expansions, data loss, or reliance on expanded content.
9. Future Paid Features
We reserve the right to introduce premium features, subscription plans, or one-time purchase options in the future. Existing free features available at the time of any pricing change will continue to be accessible for a reasonable transition period. We will provide advance notice of any such changes.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Extension at any time, with or without cause. You may stop using the Extension at any time by uninstalling it from your browser.
11. Changes to Terms
We may revise these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We will indicate the date of the latest revision at the top of this page.
12. Contact
If you have questions about these Terms of Service, please reach out through the contact information provided on the Chrome Web Store listing page.
