Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 20, 2026
1. Introduction
TextFlow ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that expands short text triggers into full content with dynamic variables. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 Local Storage
The Extension uses Chrome's local storage and IndexedDB to save your rules and preferences (e.g., language setting). This data never leaves your device.
2.2 Text Input Observation
The Extension listens to keystrokes in input fields to detect your configured triggers. The text you type is processed entirely within your browser — no keystrokes, selections, or clipboard content is ever sent to any server.
2.3 Clipboard & Selection
When a rule uses {{clipboard}} or {{selected}}, the Extension reads the clipboard or the current selection only at the moment of expansion. This data is used locally to produce the expansion and is not stored or transmitted.
3. Data We Do NOT Collect
- Browsing history or page URLs
- Cookies or authentication tokens
- Personal information (name, email, address, etc.)
- Passwords or form data
- Keystrokes outside of trigger detection
4. Data Retention
All rules and preferences are stored locally on your device. No data is retained on any external server. Uninstalling the Extension removes all locally stored data.
5. Your Rights
You can disable the Extension at any time from chrome://extensions. You can also delete individual rules from the options page at any time.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the Extension or on this page.
7. Contact
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, please reach out through the contact information provided on the Chrome Web Store listing page.
