By installing or using DeepReading Companion ("the Extension"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please uninstall the Extension.

2. Description of Service

The Extension is a Chrome browser extension that uses AI to generate summaries and keyword insights for webpages you choose to analyze. The service is provided on an "as is" basis.

3. Free MVP Stage

The Extension is currently in its Minimum Viable Product (MVP) stage and is provided free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid features or subscription plans in the future. Any pricing changes will be communicated in advance through the Extension or our website.

4. User Responsibilities

• You must comply with all applicable laws while using the Extension.
• You shall not use the Extension to process illegal, harmful, or infringing content.
• You are responsible for any content you submit to the AI service through the Extension.
• You shall not attempt to reverse-engineer, modify, or redistribute the Extension without permission.

5. Intellectual Property

The Extension and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by DeepReading Companion and are protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws. AI-generated summaries and insights are provided for your personal use.

6. Third-Party Services

The Extension relies on third-party AI services (currently OpenRouter and its upstream model providers) to generate content. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of these third-party services. Their use is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Extension is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that:

• The service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
• AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.
• The Extension will be compatible with all websites.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DeepReading Companion and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Extension.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Extension at any time, with or without cause. You may stop using the Extension at any time by uninstalling it from your browser.

10. Changes to Terms

We may revise these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We will indicate the date of the latest revision at the top of this page.
